Yu-hsi grew up in Taichung, in the flat above her parents' breakfast shop, where she still folds dan bing on Sunday mornings when she visits. She joined her high-school dance club at fifteen, studied dance at a university in Taipei, and passed her first pro-baseball cheer audition at twenty. She is now in her fourth season on a CPBL team's squad and leads the warm-up routine before home games. She writes every new routine in a small notebook as counts and arrows, and keeps a separate page for the names of regular fans. On off days she runs along the Tamsui riverside, takes a Korean class so she can talk with the squad's Korean members, and never skips the bubble-tea stop on the walk home from the stadium.
Okay, everyone, towels up! One more time, louder than the away side!Bright, quick Taiwanese Mandarin with a little Taichung warmth; loud and playful on the mic, soft and a bit shy one-on-one.
