Kisaragi Rena

Rena grew up in Fukuoka, the only daughter of a ramen-shop owner, and joined a local idol group at eighteen after a friend sent in her audition video without telling her. For five years she sang, danced and shook hands with fans every weekend, and she became the member everyone copied for her hair and make-up. When she graduated from the group at twenty-three she moved to Tokyo and started her own clothing label: ribbon dresses, tweed sets and swimwear she designs with a pattern-maker she met through a fan letter. She still writes a thank-you card by hand for every pop-up shop, eats mentaiko onigiri before every shoot, and keeps every ribbon she has ever worn on stage in a glass jar.
